1. Can you tell us how it all started?
You’re probably expecting a story about a professional game developer who knows the gaming market inside out (laughs). Nothing could be further from the truth. The story of Toria actually began, believe it or not, in a hospital room – which I still remember fondly (laughs). That’s where, after a scooter accident, I met Daniel – the lead designer of our game. We spent two weeks in the hospital, so we had plenty of time to talk. Daniel is a man full of passion, with vast experience in the industry – he had been making games quite successfully, but always for someone else. He said he had long wanted to create something of his own, so I decided to help him make that dream a reality. I thought it was the right moment – one where I could both support him and try something new myself.
I had no idea how to make games, but I was fascinated by the idea and Daniel’s giant enthusiasm. I simply believed in it. I called my friend Michał, who also really liked the project, so I invited him to join us. Besides, I don’t believe in coincidences. Meeting Daniel in the hospital was the beginning of a new path – both for me and for the whole company. It was the moment when passion, experience, and vision came together in one place and moved toward something bigger.

2. What do you find most interesting about working with the team?
Everyone brings something unique, and together we create something that goes beyond individual ideas. It’s amazing to watch a project – from the first sketches, through code and graphics, to a complete game world – slowly come to life.
Equally important to me is the fact that the team truly believes in what we’re doing. It’s not just a nine-to-five job; it’s a shared passion. I love that we have a relaxed, supportive atmosphere – anyone can share their ideas and knowledge. Thanks to that, we learn from each other and feel motivated every day to do more. This mix of creativity, energy, and mutual support makes every workday inspiring.
3. And what has surprised you the most at Toria?
A lot of things, but one of the most surprising was having to prove to the tax office that we’re a real company (laughs). It’s incredible that you suddenly have to explain that we actually have a team, we’re making a game, and we want to earn money legally. There was a mountain of papers, certificates, and confirmations – a bit like having to prove that the sun rises in the morning! But looking back, I also see something positive in it: all those procedures teach humility and organization and show that every success requires not only passion but also solid foundations.

4. What is your role in the company?
In short – all the things no one else usually wants to do (laughs). Mostly paperwork, dealing with offices, working with accounting, and making sure everything is on time and in the right place. Is it boring? I won’t lie – a little bit, but I like having insight into the whole process and knowing that the foundation of our company is solid. Thanks to that, the rest of the team can fully focus on creating the game, and I feel like I’m supporting them in doing what they do best.
Most of the days look similar, but the great thing is that each day brings new challenges and opportunities to solve problems in creative ways.
5. Where do you see Toria in two years? Experts are already predicting huge success. There are several articles claiming it will be a groundbreaking game on the market.
I’ve read those articles. They make not only me, but also the whole team very happy – especially since we didn’t commission them. Experts are attentive to what’s happening in the market. We take huge satisfaction in the fact that they respond positively to our idea and have so much faith in the project. I believe in this game’s success, just like the whole team does. I know it’s going to be groundbreaking, and I hope we’ll serve players with an extraordinary product.
Where do I see Toria in two years? I hope that our entire team – the people who believed in it and have been building its success from the very first lines of code – will feel that they created it together with us. For me, the foundation is always the people who are part of the team today. I value them greatly, because that allows me to believe in success while also enjoying not just the goal but the journey itself.
